John Morrell to Lead Energy & Power Team at HDI Global in the Middle East

HDI Global has announced that John Morrell will take on the role of Head of Energy & Power Underwriting Middle East from December 1, 2025. Based in Dubai, Morrell will lead a team managing risks in both conventional and renewable energy sectors. This role integrates operational and construction exposures under one umbrella.

John Morrell brings over 14 years of experience to HDI Global, particularly in the renewable and construction sectors within the APAC region. His appointment is a strategic move for HDI Global's expansion in the Middle East. The team includes Shumaila Shakeel, who joined as Power Underwriter on November 3, enhancing the newly established Middle East hub.

The Energy & Power Unit at HDI Global offers streamlined expertise across divisions worldwide. The Middle East unit aims to leverage HDI's value proposition, including International Programmes and Alternative Risk Transfer solutions, to meet sector needs.
