HBMSU Board Of Trustees Greenlights Strategic Plan For Enhanced Education And Partnerships

Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) has approved its strategic plan for 2024-2026 during the fourth meeting of the 2023/2024 academic year. Chaired by Mattar Al Tayer, the Board of Trustees endorsed a comprehensive plan focusing on five key pillars.

The strategic plan includes 29 initiatives and three transformational programmes. These involve establishing three new colleges in collaboration with local and international partners, forming an academic partnership with an international university, and creating technical partnerships with leading global companies.

HBMSU's New Strategic Plan

Mattar Al Tayer highlighted the Board's dedication to advancing specialised educational and research programmes. He stressed fostering creativity and innovation within the educational system to reinforce HBMSU’s standing among top institutions for smart education globally.

The five key pillars of the strategic plan are enhancing institutional design and efficiency, enriching student experiences, expanding the range of programmes and courses, reinforcing institutional identity, and building strategic partnerships. These pillars aim to position HBMSU as a leader in smart education.

The Board also discussed the University's budget plan for 2025 and 2026 during the meeting. They reviewed development initiatives aimed at growing revenues, developing the brand, improving marketing strategies, and adopting new work methods to enhance competitiveness.

Adapting to Global Trends

The approach is informed by global studies indicating that advanced technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and cloud computing systems will drive significant advancements in various sectors. These technologies are crucial for enhancing efficiency, performance, decision-making processes, and customer experiences.

During the meeting, the independent auditor's report for December 2023 was reviewed. This review ensures transparency and accountability in HBMSU’s financial practices.

Al Tayer emphasised the importance of expanding HBMSU’s footprint in technology and AI fields. He noted these areas are pivotal for digital transformation going forward.

The Board remains committed to keeping pace with future trends while enhancing HBMSU’s position as a competitive institution. This commitment includes adopting new work methods that align with emerging global trends.

This strategic plan aims to ensure that HBMSU continues to lead in smart education by leveraging advanced technologies and fostering innovation within its educational framework.
