Hazza Bin Zayed Reviews Comprehensive Ramadan Event Programme In Al Ain Region
H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Ain Region, recently evaluated the Ramadan event programme in Al Ain. This review occurred during a meeting with representatives from the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments & Zakat, and Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities at Sheikh Khalifa Grand Mosque.
Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Derei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments & Zakat, provided an overview of the Ramadan programme during this meeting. The programme is organised by the authority in partnership with Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities. It includes over 20 initiatives designed to emphasise the spiritual importance of Ramadan and promote Islamic values within the community.
The General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments & Zakat has arranged several key activities for Ramadan in Al Ain. These include the Forum of the Holy Qur’an, Cosmic Verses, and Human Civilisation; Al Ain Mahareeb (prayer niches); and the Hafeet Religious Talent Competition. Other events include a moderation forum for Imams of Al Ain mosques and Zayed Humanitarian Work Day.
Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities will also host various activities. These include a social and cultural programme; lectures at community majlises; and dialogue sessions. Additionally, they will organise an Iftar initiative for senior Emirati citizens and People of Determination to highlight authentic Emirati traditions.
The university's activities aim to foster community engagement through meal preparation in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Police. Events like Knowledge is an Inspiring Light will educate senior Emirati citizens about Emirati traditions and values.
Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Derei expressed his gratitude to H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan for supporting these programmes. He emphasised that these initiatives celebrate Ramadan while reinforcing its values and fostering spiritual unity within the community.
The meeting was attended by notable figures including Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Abdullah Mohammed Al Raisi, Cultural Adviser at the Presidential Court; Ahmed Rashid Al Neyadi, Director-General of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments & Zakat; and Dr. Khalifa Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Chancellor of Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities.
