Hazza Bin Zayed Reviews Sports Initiatives With Delegations In Al Ain Region

H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region, has reiterated the leadership's vision to enhance the sports sector. This aligns with President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's goal of using sports as a catalyst for sustainable development and community wellbeing. The focus is on promoting active lifestyles through strategic initiatives and traditional sports preservation.

During a meeting with delegations from various sports councils and clubs, H.H. Sheikh Hazza was informed about Abu Dhabi Sports Council’s strategic plans for Al Ain Region. These plans aim to bolster the role of sports in supporting developmental efforts and vital sectors. The council intends to improve sports infrastructure, host major events, support athletes, and promote a sporting culture within the community.

H.H. Sheikh Hazza highlighted the importance of expanding community sports activities. He noted that these activities foster cooperation and positive interaction among society members while enhancing physical and mental health. Organising such events is seen as an investment in reinforcing community cohesion and social solidarity.

The Emirates Falconers’ Club's main activities in Al Ain Region were also discussed. The club aims to preserve falconry as a cultural heritage that embodies the UAE’s national identity. Initiatives are in place to promote falconry traditions among the wider community, ensuring its sustainability across generations.

H.H. Sheikh Hazza emphasised safeguarding falconry as a significant element of Emirati heritage. He stressed the need for initiatives that instil falconry values among children and youth, strengthening its presence in society. This involves launching programmes that highlight the sport's cultural significance.

The event calendar of the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club was reviewed, focusing on developing equestrian, shooting, and golf activities. These efforts aim to position Al Ain Region as a leading destination for sports and leisure activities.

Accelerating Development Plans

H.H. Sheikh Hazza stressed accelerating development plans in Al Ain’s sports sector with clear programmes and timelines. Collaboration among relevant entities is crucial to building an integrated sports ecosystem aligned with high standards. This will reinforce Al Ain’s position as a hub for local, regional, and global sporting events.

Officials from various clubs expressed gratitude for H.H. Sheikh Hazza’s support for sports in Al Ain Region. They reaffirmed their commitment to advancing projects that provide a modern sports environment for all societal segments, aligning with the region's rapid growth in this sector.
