Hamdan Bin Zayed Inaugurates Liwa International Festival 2025 With Cultural And Sporting Events
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, recently visited the Liwa International Festival 2025 (LIWA 2025). The festival, held under his patronage, runs until 4 January 2025 in the Al Dhafra Region. His visit highlighted the significance of this event in promoting cultural and entertainment activities.
During his visit, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan was joined by several dignitaries, including H.H. Sheikh Yas bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Other notable attendees were Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, and Nasser Mohammed Al Mansouri, Undersecretary of the Ruler’s Representative Court in Al Dhafra Region.
The festival offers a wide array of attractions for visitors. It features local and international exhibitors at the camping and RV grounds. Liwa Village hosts artistic, cultural, and family entertainment programmes that provide unique experiences for attendees. The main stage is set for concerts and celebrations throughout the event.
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan began his tour with a visit to these camping areas before exploring Liwa Village. He was given a preview of key highlights such as the Monster Jam truck show, Hollywood Circus, and Classic Cars exhibition. These attractions are among the most anticipated by festival-goers.
The opening ceremony was a significant part of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan's visit. It included the premiere of a film celebrating Liwa International Festival's history over the years. Following this, he officially inaugurated the event with a spectacular fireworks display and exciting performances on the sand dunes.
The festival spans 23 days and is organised by DCT Abu Dhabi in partnership with several entities including Liwa Sports Club and Abu Dhabi Police. This collaboration ensures a diverse range of activities for all visitors.
