Hamdan Bin Zayed Directs Provision Of 40,000 School Bags To Support Education In Lebanon Amid Ongoing Challenges

The UAE has launched a project to support education in Lebanon, providing 40,000 school bags. This initiative is part of the "UAE stands with Lebanon" campaign, led by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. It aims to ensure educational continuity amid challenges in Lebanon's educational sector.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), has directed this support. The initiative aligns with the UAE's ongoing efforts to enhance education and provide assistance to the Lebanese people.

Support for Education in Lebanon: 40,000 School Bags

Omar Sultan AlOlama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, emphasised the UAE's commitment to humanitarian work. He highlighted directives from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed to strengthen these efforts globally. AlOlama also noted guidance from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in fostering humanitarian initiatives.

AlOlama praised Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed for his consistent support of humanitarian projects. The ERC's involvement in various initiatives reflects this commitment, including the education continuity project in Lebanon. This project provides essential resources for students facing difficult circumstances.

The "Lebanon Education Continuity Project" is part of broader efforts initiated by the UAE President to support Lebanon. On 30th October, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid directed the development of programmes through the Digital School to ensure education continues despite ongoing challenges there.

The Digital School is a key UAE initiative offering innovative educational solutions worldwide. It aims to enhance learning opportunities for children in underserved areas, reflecting the UAE's dedication to its humanitarian mission.

Leadership and Swift Response

Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ERC, highlighted the initiative's roots in wise leadership directives. The UAE was among the first nations to recognise its responsibility towards Lebanon and acted swiftly in response.

The UAE mobilised financial, human, and logistical resources promptly. Volunteers and humanitarian organisations were deployed to significantly impact international relief efforts and mitigate crisis effects on those affected.

This comprehensive approach underscores the UAE’s steadfast commitment to supporting communities worldwide through humanitarian initiatives that foster hope and create opportunities for a brighter future.
