Hamdan Bin Zayed Discusses Preparations For Zayed Charity Run With Committee Chairman
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region, recently met with Lt. Gen. (Rtd.) Mohamed Helal Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of the Zayed Charity Run, at Al Nakheel Palace in Abu Dhabi. They discussed preparations for the upcoming charity run and its significant social impact.
The Zayed Charity Run is set to attract approximately 15,000 participants this year. Families, students, athletes, and community groups will join races of 3, 5, and 10 kilometres. The event will start from Wahat Al Karama and end at Erth Abu Dhabi, showcasing its esteemed status within the community.
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed highlighted that the run has evolved beyond a mere sporting event into a global humanitarian platform. It draws inspiration from the values of the UAE's Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, focusing on compassion and social solidarity.
He emphasised the strong backing from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for humanitarian initiatives. This support is crucial for the success of such events and aligns with the leadership’s vision of promoting generosity and solidarity.
Lt. Gen. (Rtd.) Mohamed Helal Al Kaabi stated that proceeds from this year's run will support advanced research programmes at the Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Centre. These include personalised cancer therapies, precision medicine based on biological data, and innovative perinatal medicine research.
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan noted that supporting research programmes is an investment in future medical advancements. It reflects a collaborative effort between the community and research institutions to achieve sustainable positive outcomes.
Event Preparations
The readiness of organising teams was reviewed by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed during his meeting with Lt. Gen. (Rtd.) Mohamed Helal Al Kaabi. Final arrangements are in place to welcome participants as public interest continues to grow as the event date nears.
