Hamdan Bin Zayed Engages With Abu Dhabi Ports Delegation On Infrastructure Developments

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region, recently met with a delegation from AD Ports Group at Al Nakheel Palace in Abu Dhabi. The delegation was led by Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO. The meeting focused on advancing development initiatives and promoting sustainable growth in Al Dhafra.

During the discussion, Sheikh Hamdan was informed about the latest advancements in projects by AD Ports Group aimed at enhancing marine infrastructure and cruise ship facilities on Sir Bani Yas Island. He emphasised the significance of these ongoing infrastructure projects in fostering an integrated development environment that improves the quality of life for Abu Dhabi residents.

Sheikh Hamdan highlighted that these efforts align with the sustainable development goals across the emirate, including Al Dhafra. He noted that such initiatives are part of directives from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who prioritises sustainable development nationwide. These strategic projects aim to bolster the UAE’s global economic standing and enhance societal wellbeing.

"Increasing the infrastructure capacity of Sir Bani Yas Island aims to attract more visitors and reinforce the island’s position as a premier destination for luxury yachts and cruise ships, further consolidating Abu Dhabi’s status as a leading global maritime hub," Sheikh Hamdan said during the meeting.

Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi expressed that H.H. Sheikh Hamdan's vision for Al Dhafra Region is pivotal in their mission to establish Sir Bani Yas Island as a top-tier maritime and tourism destination. He mentioned that AD Ports Group is actively working on plans to expand the island’s infrastructure capacity and improve services for luxury yachts and cruise ships.

The focus on enhancing Sir Bani Yas Island's facilities is expected to attract more visitors, thereby strengthening its reputation as a luxury destination. This initiative is part of broader efforts to position Abu Dhabi as a prominent player in global maritime activities.
