Hamdan Bin Zayed Inaugurates Ghayathi Community Sport Centre To Promote Healthy Lifestyles
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan has opened the Ghayathi Sports and Community Center in Al Dhafra Region. This initiative underscores the leadership's dedication to promoting healthier lifestyles and enhancing community wellbeing. The centre aligns with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to integrate sports into sustainable development, reflecting the goals of the UAE Year of the Community.
Sheikh Hamdan highlighted that sports are crucial for achieving a balanced life and fostering social unity. He urged everyone to incorporate sports into their daily routines due to its benefits for physical and mental health. This approach aims to create a more active and productive society by encouraging cooperation and belonging among community members.
The Ghayathi Sports and Community Center is designed to inspire an active lifestyle among residents. It offers advanced facilities for both men and women, including multipurpose spaces for various sports activities. The centre features a hall accommodating football, basketball, volleyball, and handball, catering to diverse groups while promoting fitness and competition.
During the inauguration, Sheikh Hamdan was joined by Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Nasser Mohammed Al Mansouri, and other officials. Aref Hamad Al Awani from the Abu Dhabi Sports Council welcomed them along with senior council members. This gathering emphasised the collaborative effort behind this community-focused project.
The centre also includes two top-tier swimming pools, fitness halls, and aerobics rooms tailored for both genders. These facilities encourage group exercises and regular physical activity among residents. Additionally, it houses a children's nursery, administrative offices, and retail outlets, creating a holistic environment for community interaction.
Aref Hamad Al Awani expressed gratitude towards H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed for his unwavering support in advancing sports and community initiatives in Al Dhafra Region. He noted that the Ghayathi Sports and Community Center exemplifies modern sports facilities that serve all societal segments while promoting sports as a lifestyle choice.
This project aligns with Abu Dhabi Government's vision to foster healthy living across Al Dhafra Region. It supports the Abu Dhabi Sports Council's mission to improve life quality through sports engagement.
