Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation Launches Applications For 2025 Educational Awards Across GCC

The Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences has opened applications for its 2025 Local and GCC Educational Awards. These awards aim to recognise excellence in education and promote innovation across the UAE and Gulf region. The initiative supports outstanding performance in education, encouraging individuals and institutions to present models that align with global best practices.

Dr. Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of the foundation, highlighted the significance of these awards. He stated, "We believe that honouring teachers, educators, students, and educational institutions enhances excellence in school performance and improves education quality, driving sustainable development forward. We eagerly anticipate submissions that reflect innovation and leadership in the education sector."

Applications Open for 2025 Educational Awards

The foundation's local awards celebrate exceptional educational achievements within the UAE. The Distinguished Student Award and the Distinguished Undergraduate University Student Award are given to students who excel academically or non-academically while maintaining strong ethical standards. These awards aim to inspire students to achieve high standards of excellence.

The Distinguished Teacher Award acknowledges teachers who surpass traditional teaching methods, achieving significant success in enhancing learning experiences. Meanwhile, the Distinguished Educator Award honours professionals who develop innovative approaches to address future educational challenges, contributing to sustainable development in education.

Educational institutions are also recognised through the Distinguished School Award. This award is given to schools that achieve outstanding academic results locally and internationally while implementing advanced governance and administrative innovations. The award encourages schools to adopt innovative solutions that improve learning quality.

Awards for Supporting Institutions

The Education Supporting Institutions Award is dedicated to government and private entities making substantial contributions to UAE education. Eligible organisations must have an official branch in the country, even if education is not their primary activity. This award highlights the importance of external support in advancing educational goals.

In line with its mission, the foundation extends its support across GCC countries through awards celebrating educational innovation and leadership. The Distinguished Student Award recognises students demonstrating both academic and non-academic excellence based on comprehensive criteria integrating performance, innovation, and ethical behaviour.

Encouraging Leadership in Education

The Distinguished Teacher Award acknowledges educators advancing teaching methodologies with cutting-edge practices. In educational leadership, the Distinguished Educator Award celebrates leaders improving systems by implementing pioneering methodologies throughout the GCC region.

The Distinguished School Award is granted to institutions implementing advanced academic standards and innovative solutions preparing students for future challenges. This award encourages schools across the GCC to strive for excellence by adopting forward-thinking approaches.

Application Process Details

Applications must be submitted by 15th July 2025. To assist candidates, introductory workshops will be held from February to July 2025. These sessions will provide detailed guidance on application processes and participation requirements, aiming to enhance submission quality and competitiveness among participants.

After submissions close, evaluations will occur between September and October 2025 through interviews and virtual visits. Winners will be announced later and honoured at an official ceremony in 2026.
