Hamdan Bin Mohammed Highlights Dubai's Role At The 2025 Airshow As A Global Aviation Hub
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, visited the Dubai Airshow 2025. This event is under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. The Airshow takes place at Dubai World Central.
During his visit on the second day, Sheikh Hamdan remarked that bringing together top aviation manufacturers and technology developers in Dubai highlights the emirate's role as a global hub for future advancements. He emphasised that the facilities and opportunities available foster international dialogue aimed at enhancing security, stability, progress, and prosperity worldwide.
Sheikh Hamdan underscored the biennial Dubai Airshow's importance in promoting collaboration and joint efforts to develop integrated global aviation capabilities through innovation and strategic partnerships. He noted that the strong participation from leading aviation companies demonstrates Dubai’s growing influence in shaping the future of global aviation and supporting a knowledge-based economy aligned with national aspirations.
The Airshow features more than 1,500 exhibitors this year, including 440 new participants. It also welcomes 148,000 visitors and 490 civil and military delegations from 115 countries. The event includes 21 national pavilions, 98 chalets, an expanded display area of 8,000 square metres, as well as 120 start-ups and 50 investors.
During his tour, Sheikh Hamdan reviewed over 200 aircraft on display. These ranged from commercial and military planes to business jets and UAVs. Among them was the Bombardier Global 7500 aircraft with a seating capacity for 19 passengers and a range of up to 8,000 nautical miles after upgrades.
He also received briefings on Gulfstream’s G800 and G700 jets along with COMAC C919. The C919 is China’s first commercial aircraft designed to seat 168 passengers with enhanced fuel efficiency and digital flight systems. This reflects China's growing presence in global aviation.
The Future Is Here
The theme for this year's Airshow is ‘The Future Is Here’. It aims to unite global aviation leaders to shape the next era of aviation and space sectors. The event showcases advanced aviation technologies alongside traditional aircraft displays.
Sheikh Hamdan highlighted how successive editions of the Airshow have demonstrated the value of collaboration in developing sustainable aviation solutions through innovation. This aligns with Dubai's vision for a knowledge-based economy that supports future aspirations.
The event serves as a platform for fostering multi-track international dialogue focused on building a better future for humanity while advancing international security and stability. Sheikh Hamdan noted that such gatherings contribute significantly to progress and prosperity globally.
