Hamdan Bin Mohammed Showcases UAE-Made Calidus B-250 Aircraft At Dubai Airshow 2025
The 19th Dubai Airshow, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is showcasing the UAE-made Calidus B-250 aircraft. This event, which is the largest in its history with over 1,500 exhibitors, attracts participants from the UAE and globally. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum reviewed this aircraft at the show.
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan highlighted the UAE's growing role as a global centre for advanced defence industries. He stressed that excellence in this sector is crucial for safeguarding national achievements and ensuring security. The B-250 aircraft exemplifies these advancements with its modern design and capabilities.
The B-250 aircraft is a versatile light combat plane designed for various missions such as close air support, surveillance, and reconnaissance. It boasts a 12-hour flight endurance and can be used for pilot training. This innovation reflects the UAE's commitment to developing cutting-edge defence solutions.
Sheikh Hamdan praised Calidus Holding, based in Abu Dhabi, for their role in advancing defence products. He noted that national institutions are vital in elevating the UAE’s status in the global defence market. Investing in local defence industries is seen as an investment in the nation's future.
The Crown Prince also acknowledged the UAE’s defence sector for its advanced capabilities and innovative solutions. He emphasised efforts to forge global partnerships and nurture specialised national talent to build a more efficient and advanced defence industry.
