Hamdan Programme For Government Services Recognises Nine Dubai Entities For Excellence In Public Service Innovation

The Hamdan bin Mohammed Programme for Government Services has revealed the finalists for its prestigious awards: the Hamdan Flag, Best Pioneering Initiative, and Best Digital City Experience. This announcement underscores significant strides in enhancing customer service and operational efficiency, aligning with Dubai's 360 Services policy. The initiative aims to position Dubai as a leader in innovative government services and seamless customer experiences.

Nine Dubai government entities have been shortlisted for the Hamdan Flag award. These organisations have excelled in implementing the 360 Services policy, which focuses on enhancing, personalising, and digitalising public services. The finalists include the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Community Development Authority, General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs-Dubai, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Police, Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, Dubai Customs, and Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment.

Hamdan Programme Shortlists Nine Government Entities

The Best Pioneering Initiative award highlights eight innovative projects that demonstrate excellence in digital transformation and service enhancement. Among these are Montaji Plus by Dubai Municipality, which uses AI for product safety; Smart Travel by the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs-Dubai to improve passenger experience; Driver’s Licensing by the Roads and Transport Authority to streamline licensing processes; and Digitalised ATA Carnet by Dubai Chambers to simplify international trade documentation.

Four initiatives have been nominated for the Best Digital City Experience award under the Hamdan bin Mohammed Programme for Government Services. These projects offer transformative digital solutions evaluated based on their impact on city life. They include Land Grants and Exchange for UAE citizens, EV Green Charger integration for electric vehicles, streamlined vehicle transfer processes, and digitalisation of death-related procedures to support bereaved families.

Eman Al Suwaidi from The Executive Council highlighted: "Dubai’s unwavering commitment to continuous improvement is driving the advancement of government services. Guided by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum... we are dedicated to enhancing innovation and developing a world-class model for seamless, proactive, and personalised public services." This commitment is evident in how these programmes redefine public service delivery.

The Hamdan bin Mohammed Programme aligns with Dubai's vision of integrated government services through its 360 Services policy. This policy aims to automate all public services while integrating 90% of them to minimise in-person visits. All submissions were rigorously assessed by international experts using criteria such as impact, creativity, innovation, service culture, sustainability of results, and adoption of a whole-of-government approach.

The programme actively supports government entities in raising service standards while fostering healthy competition through initiatives like the Hamdan Flag. Eman Al Suwaidi expressed gratitude towards participants: "We extend our gratitude to all participants for their submissions and congratulate the finalists on their achievements." This recognition encourages continuous improvement within government services.
