Hamdan Bin Mohammed Appoints New CEOs To Enhance Dubai Media Council's Development And Regulation Sectors

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has appointed Hesham Mohammed Abdulrahim Al Olama as CEO of the Media Development Sector at the Dubai Media Council. This decision is part of Executive Council Resolution No. (92) of 2025. Additionally, Rashid Humaid Saeed Al Marri has been transferred from the Government of Dubai Media Office to become CEO of the Media Regulation Sector under Resolution No. (93) of 2025.

Both appointments will take effect on 1st November 2025 and will be officially recorded in the Official Gazette. Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, expressed gratitude to H.H. Sheikh Hamdan for his confidence in these skilled Emirati professionals. She highlighted that these appointments demonstrate a commitment to enhancing Dubai's media sector through a unified framework.

New CEOs Appointed at Dubai Media Council

The Dubai Media Council is tasked with overseeing the media sector as per Decree No. (66) of 2024. It adheres to global best practices while adapting to technological changes and evolving media platforms that demand flexible regulation. The Council's initiatives are designed to foster a thriving media environment by setting clear regulatory frameworks and supporting executive initiatives.

Mona Ghanem Al Marri emphasised that these appointments are crucial for supporting the Council’s efforts under H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council. The aim is to advance the media sector with national talent's support, ensuring its growth and development.

The new leadership roles align with Dubai’s vision to become a centre for media creativity and high-quality content production. This vision includes strengthening local media, fostering international partnerships, encouraging collaboration across sectors, and empowering youth alongside Emirati talent to shape the future landscape.
