Hamdan Bin Mohammed Engages With Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister To Strengthen UAE-Oman Cooperation
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, met with His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said in Muscat. The meeting aimed to deepen strategic cooperation between the UAE and Oman across various sectors. This visit underscores the strong historical ties and mutual interests shared by both nations.
The discussions highlighted the importance of ongoing coordination to advance mutual interests and drive comprehensive development in both countries. Key topics included enhancing Gulf cooperation, increasing trade and tourism flows, promoting investments, and encouraging private sector involvement in joint ventures.
Sheikh Hamdan emphasised the significance of high-level exchanges and ministerial engagement to strengthen UAE-Oman relations. He noted that these efforts align with national development goals, particularly in economic, political, scientific, and cultural areas. The meeting reflected the growing momentum in bilateral cooperation guided by the vision of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Oman's Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said.
Oman remains a key trading partner for the UAE within the GCC. In 2024, non-oil trade between the two nations exceeded AED56.1 billion, marking a 9.8% increase from 2023. Sheikh Hamdan expressed optimism about further expanding trade and tourism flows given both countries' rich offerings.
The meeting also addressed regional and international developments, focusing on promoting peace, security, and stability in the Middle East. Both leaders reiterated their commitment to strengthening cooperation aligned with shared strategic aspirations for future growth.
His Highness Sayyid Fahd welcomed Sheikh Hamdan's visit as a reflection of deep ties between the two nations. He emphasised that this visit would further advance strategic cooperation supporting mutual development goals and continued economic growth.
