Hamdan Bin Mohammed And Italy’s Defence Minister Discuss Bilateral Relations In Abu Dhabi
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, recently met with Guido Crosetto, Italy’s Minister of Defence, in Abu Dhabi. The meeting was attended by Mohamed bin Mubarak Fadhel Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, along with senior officials from both nations.
The discussions centred on strengthening ties between the UAE and Italy, focusing on enhancing cooperation in defence. Both parties agreed on the importance of sharing expertise and best practices to advance defence technologies and improve military readiness. They also emphasised the significance of bilateral visits to foster collaboration.
During their talks, Sheikh Hamdan welcomed Crosetto warmly, noting that his visit symbolises the strong relationship between the two countries. The partnership aims to explore new opportunities for collaboration across various sectors, particularly in defence industries. This cooperation is crucial for safeguarding national interests and fulfilling the aspirations of both peoples.

Sheikh Hamdan and Crosetto visited the Italian naval training ship Amerigo Vespucci at Zayed Port. This vessel is one of the few remaining active sailing ships globally and marked its first visit to the UAE in its 93-year history. The visit highlighted its role in maritime diplomacy and environmental protection.
At the end of their tour, Sheikh Hamdan left a message in the VIP guestbook aboard Amerigo Vespucci. He noted its significance as a symbol of maritime heritage for Italy's Navy. The ship's mission underscores its importance in fostering international relations through maritime diplomacy.
