Hamdan Bin Mohammed And Italy’s Defence Minister Discuss Bilateral Relations In Abu Dhabi

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, recently met with Guido Crosetto, Italy’s Minister of Defence, in Abu Dhabi. The meeting was attended by Mohamed bin Mubarak Fadhel Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, along with senior officials from both nations.

The discussions centred on strengthening ties between the UAE and Italy, focusing on enhancing cooperation in defence. Both parties agreed on the importance of sharing expertise and best practices to advance defence technologies and improve military readiness. They also emphasised the significance of bilateral visits to foster collaboration.

During their talks, Sheikh Hamdan welcomed Crosetto warmly, noting that his visit symbolises the strong relationship between the two countries. This vessel is one of the few remaining active sailing ships globally and marked its first visit to the UAE in its 93-year history. At the end of their tour, Sheikh Hamdan left a message in the VIP guestbook aboard Amerigo Vespucci. He noted its significance as a symbol of maritime heritage for Italy's Navy. The ship's mission underscores its importance in fostering international relations through maritime diplomacy.
