Hamdan Bin Mohammed Engages With First Companies Awarded Dubai AI Seal During Dubai AI Week

During Dubai AI Week 2025, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum met with representatives from the first companies awarded the Dubai AI Seal. This initiative, launched in January 2025 by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI), aims to build trust in AI firms and strengthen Dubai's status as a global leader in artificial intelligence.

The Dubai AI Seal is awarded to companies that meet strict evaluation criteria, ensuring they maintain high standards of quality, security, and responsible use. Certified companies receive a unique serial number and classification, allowing government and private sector organisations to identify trustworthy AI partners.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan emphasised the importance of technology in improving quality of life and government performance. He stated, "In Dubai, we believe in proactively preparing for the future and in the transformative power of technology to enhance people’s quality of life and improve government performance." The initiative aligns with Dubai's strategic goals to harness AI effectively.

The private sector is crucial for advancing innovation in Dubai. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan noted its ongoing role in driving progress: "The private sector plays — and will continue to play — a vital role in driving Dubai’s future progress and innovation." The collaboration between government entities and tech companies is central to this vision.

The Dubai AI Seal creates a structured framework for partnerships between government bodies and trusted tech providers. Companies wishing to engage in government AI projects must first obtain this certification. The seal can be displayed on digital platforms and promotional materials, showcasing their alignment with Dubai’s strategic AI vision.

All licensed tech firms offering AI products or services are evaluated based on several criteria: the nature of their activities, the number of specialised engineers employed, current projects, and partnerships with stakeholders. This assessment ensures only reputable companies receive the seal.

Economic Impact and Opportunities

The initiative not only fosters responsible AI adoption but also recognises its economic significance. By establishing a trusted network of providers, it creates new business opportunities and highlights the potential for job creation and long-term partnerships within the sector.

The DCAI supports government entities in adopting emerging technologies, developing regulations, attracting global solutions, empowering national talent, and enhancing residents' quality of life. This oversight ensures that the initiative aligns with broader strategic objectives.
