Hamdan Bin Mohammed Engages Global Delegates During International Programme For Government Directors In Dubai

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, recently engaged with international public officials at the International Programme for Government Directors. This event gathered senior government figures from 31 countries to discuss innovative solutions in public administration.

Sheikh Hamdan welcomed the delegates, expressing optimism that the programme would enrich a global pool of public administrators. He emphasised the need for creativity and adaptability to address global developmental challenges effectively. Participants shared insights on government administration trends and stressed innovative thinking to enhance services and community life quality.

Hamdan bin Mohammed Hosts Global Government Leaders

The programme reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aiming to foster knowledge cooperation globally. "The International Programme for Government Directors reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to enhance knowledge cooperation with countries and governments worldwide," Sheikh Hamdan stated.

The initiative aims to develop competencies in public administration that can tackle future challenges effectively. It underscores the UAE's commitment to sharing its unique governance experiences with other nations, contributing to their development. This effort strengthens the UAE's leadership role in shaping future global governance.

The programme is developed by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Center for Leadership Development and the Government Experience Exchange Programme. It aims to enhance leadership skills among senior officials from participating countries by equipping them with governance tools inspired by UAE's successful experiences.

Participants will engage in field visits until 19th October to learn about UAE's best practices across various sectors such as economy, trade, education, space, AI, digital transformation, and youth empowerment. These visits include interactive sessions with top leaders to strengthen leadership skills and provide strategic insights into future public administration challenges.

Global Participation

The event includes ministers and directors general from diverse countries like Brazil, Azerbaijan, Mongolia, Iraq's Kurdistan Region, Bermuda, Ethiopia, Georgia, Maldives, Andorra, Kyrgyzstan, Egypt, Barbados, Romania, Costa Rica, Madagascar, Seychelles, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Fiji, Rwanda among others.

During field visits within the programme framework participants will explore UAE's policy development practices and innovation in public performance. They will also examine initiatives aimed at diversifying the national economy while promoting a knowledge-based model supporting small and medium enterprises.

Fostering Innovation

The programme highlights UAE's efforts in fostering innovation and developing innovators for sustainable development. It showcases how advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence are adopted to improve life quality. Participants will gain insights into these initiatives during their visit.

The programme seeks to develop eight key skills: Strategic Foresight; Global Citizenship; Disruptive Mindset; Passion & Commitment; Value Creation; Curiosity & Agility; Diversity & Inclusion; People First. These skills aim to build a network of innovative leaders driving national prosperity while promoting continuous learning globally.

Sheikh Hamdan discussed enhancing intergovernmental cooperation with participants focusing on optimising training and talent development. This approach aims to boost government performance addressing new challenges presented by a rapidly changing world.

"The future requires innovative leaders who can adapt to rapid changes," Sheikh Hamdan added. The programme plays a crucial role in developing strategies for future public administration equipping leaders with advanced skills fostering innovation within organisations enhancing operational frameworks for communities' betterment.
