Hamdan Bin Mohammed Forms Dubai Civility Committee To Enhance Urban Aesthetics And Global Image
Under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai aims to become the world's most beautiful and advanced city. To achieve this vision, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has established the Dubai Civility Committee. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance Dubai's aesthetic appeal and global standing.
The Committee, led by Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, includes key figures such as the Chairman of the Supreme Committee of Urban Planning as Vice Chairman. Other members are the Secretary-General of The Executive Council of Dubai, the Director-General of the Crown Prince’s Office, and leaders from Dubai Police, Economy and Tourism, and Municipality.

This Committee's primary role is to support Dubai's efforts in improving its visual environment according to the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan. It aims to preserve Dubai's unique architectural identity while promoting modern city living. The focus is on enhancing urban aesthetics by addressing elements that detract from the city's beauty.
In line with approved urban planning guidelines, the Committee will work on reinforcing Dubai’s visual identity. It will identify and analyse emerging urban challenges and develop strategies to manage their impact effectively. This involves setting strategic directions and policies that encourage practices supporting urban aesthetics preservation.
The Committee is tasked with formulating action plans in coordination with the Supreme Committee for Urban Planning. These plans will be reviewed at each stage to assess their outcomes. The Committee will identify unsightly urban elements and assign relevant authorities to conduct surveys, propose solutions, and assign responsibilities for improvement.
Performance monitoring is a crucial aspect of the Committee's responsibilities. Members will establish performance indicators to measure progress, public satisfaction, and policy impacts. Advanced technologies like AI will be used for early detection of negative trends and proposing necessary resources and budgets.
Collaboration with Government Entities
All government entities involved in developing Dubai’s urban landscape must cooperate with this new Committee. They are required to provide data, reports, statistics, and studies regularly. This collaboration supports strategy development and informed decision-making essential for achieving desired outcomes.
The establishment of subcommittees and working groups will further aid in addressing implementation challenges. Support strategies will be developed to ensure smooth execution of plans aimed at enhancing Dubai's urban aesthetics.
This initiative reflects a commitment to making Dubai a global model of beauty and harmony in modern city living. By leveraging technology and strategic planning, the city aims to maintain its unique architectural identity while adapting to future challenges.
