Hamdan Bin Mohammed Unveils Comprehensive Strategies To Elevate Dubai As A Global Leader

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has endorsed several initiatives to enhance Dubai's global standing as a beautiful, liveable, and healthy city. These plans were approved during the Executive Council of Dubai meeting, aligning with H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision for the UAE's future.

The Executive Council has sanctioned the Public Parks and Greenery Strategy with an AED18.3 billion budget. This strategy includes over 800 projects like 310 new parks and improvements to 322 existing ones. It aims to increase annual park visits to 95 million by 2040 and triple tree numbers, ensuring green spaces are accessible within a short walk or cycle ride for residents.

The Aviation Talent 33 initiative was also approved to bolster Dubai's status as a leading aviation hub. This initiative focuses on future readiness and skills development in the aviation sector, aiming to create over 15,000 jobs and more than 4,000 training opportunities. It also seeks to forge strategic partnerships with aviation companies.

In education, the council approved a policy to expand affordable high-quality schools in line with the Dubai Education Strategy 2033. The goal is to attract around 60 new affordable schools by 2033, adding approximately 120,000 seats. Incentives include reduced government fees and land leasing costs for investors establishing new private schools.

The Sports Sector Strategic Plan 2033 was developed by the Dubai Sports Council to position Dubai as a leading sports hub globally. This plan includes attracting international events and supporting local sports clubs. It comprises 19 programmes across various sports, focusing on youth and people of determination.

Sheikh Hamdan highlighted that sport is now a promising investment field in Dubai. He noted that young people are motivated to represent the UAE at global events, which drives the development of sporting opportunities through this strategic plan.

Healthcare and Financial Initiatives

The project to expand Early Detection Healthcare Services aims to place Dubai among the top ten cities for healthy life expectancy by reducing chronic diseases. The project targets increasing early detection rates for colon cancer by 40% and vaccination services by 50%, while reducing waiting times for appointments.

The establishment of the Financial Restructuring and Insolvency Court was also approved. This court will specialise in financial reorganisation cases, aiming to attract investment by assisting companies in settling debts without liquidating assets.

Vision for Integrated Development

Sheikh Hamdan emphasised that under H.H. Sheikh Mohammed’s guidance, Dubai is building an integrated city combining urban growth with nature. The aim is to maintain its status as an advanced city balancing human wellbeing with urban resilience through economic and social agendas outlined in the Dubai Plan 2033.

He further stated: "Dubai is the best and most beautiful city in the world, and we want it to remain the most advanced, attractive and sustainable." His Highness also praised the UAE Annual Government Meetings for fostering federal-local integration.
