Hamdan-ALECSO Award Seeks Nominations For Outstanding Educational Research
The Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences has officially opened its doors for nominations for the prestigious Hamdan-ALECSO Award for Distinguished Educational Research. Interested parties are invited to submit their nominations through the foundation's website until the 9th of September, 2024. This initiative, in collaboration with the Arab League Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ALECSO), seeks to spotlight and honor exceptional educational research within the Arab world for the years 2024-2025.
Professor Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of ALECSO, expressed enthusiasm about the award, highlighting its role in providing a vital platform for educational researchers across the Arab nations. He noted, "This award is designed to be a significant and high-quality addition to the education sector." Dr. Amar emphasized the award's objective to foster a specialized platform for sharing experiences, exemplary practices, and innovative experiments that contribute substantially to the scientific community and help achieve academic goals.

Dr. Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Secretary-General and CEO of the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, reiterated the award's commitment to encouraging research activities in the Arab world. He pointed out that numerous distinguished educational research studies have been attracted thanks to this initiative. "The education sector in the Arab world has greatly benefited from these research studies," Dr. Al Suwaidi stated, underscoring their role in disseminating knowledge, exchanging successful experiences, and enhancing educational and academic production.
He further elaborated on how these efforts align with the government's vision and leadership's priorities to advance educational institutions. This strategic focus aims at preparing qualified generations capable of contributing significantly to societal development, renaissance, and prosperity through cooperation with international, regional, and local partners.
Dr. Al Suwaidi also mentioned that all necessary information and application requirements for the award are available on the foundation's website. Highlighting the success of the previous edition of the award, he shared that it received submissions from 17 Arab countries with a total of 146 research papers. Notably, three winning research papers emerged from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, and the Arab Republic of Egypt.
This initiative not only underscores the importance of educational research in driving forward academic excellence but also demonstrates a committed effort towards enriching the educational landscape across the Arab world. Through such prestigious awards, researchers are given a platform to showcase their work, thereby contributing to a vibrant scientific community that is essential for future advancements.
