Green Hydrogen Summit At Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025 To Drive Global Adoption Of Green Hydrogen
Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2025, backed by the UAE and Masdar, will host the Green Hydrogen Summit. This event aims to promote green hydrogen adoption across various sectors. It aligns with Abu Dhabi's Low Carbon Hydrogen Policy and the UAE's National Hydrogen Strategy 2050, showcasing the region's ambition to become a global leader in green hydrogen innovation and investment.
Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, CEO of Masdar, stated, "Green hydrogen is a critical pillar in the transformation of energy systems, unlocking pathways to decarbonise hard-to-abate sectors and offering a powerful opportunity to accelerate progress toward net zero goals. The UAE is committed to leading the way in developing and deploying this vital technology, with ADSW standing at the nexus of new thinking and action and serving as a dynamic platform to unite global leaders, industry experts, policymakers and investors. Together, we are turning bold commitments into impactful action and driving the rapid scale-up of green hydrogen production for a more sustainable world."

Masdar is pioneering green hydrogen technologies through power-to-X projects both locally and internationally. Their strategy involves accelerating investments in green hydrogen to diversify the UAE’s economy while transforming global energy systems. By targeting an annual production of 1 million tonnes of green hydrogen or its derivatives within ten years, Masdar is investing strategically in scalable projects across key markets.
The 2025 Green Hydrogen Summit will encourage dialogue and actionable solutions through various formats like plenary panels, fireside chats, working sessions, and roundtables. These activities aim to deepen collaboration, unlock investment opportunities, deploy sustainable financial models, and harmonise global standards for green hydrogen.
The summit is supported by partners including Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE), ADNOC, Emirates Global Aluminum (EGA), EMSTEEL, Fertiglobe, and BEEAH. These collaborations are crucial for advancing discussions on transforming global energy systems and fostering a thriving green hydrogen ecosystem.
Masdar also focuses on decarbonising challenging sectors such as aviation, marine transport, and steel production. They are developing projects that establish reliable supply chains for products like green ammonia, eMethanol, SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel), eMethane, and liquid hydrogen.
The summit builds on previous editions' momentum to further collaboration efforts globally. It aims to unlock the full potential of green hydrogen for sustainable development by promoting investment opportunities and standardisation efforts worldwide.
This event marks a significant step towards realising the potential of green hydrogen in driving sustainable development globally. By fostering collaboration among industry leaders and policymakers, it seeks to create tangible progress towards a robust green hydrogen ecosystem.
