Global Tech Alliance Unveils Stargate UAE To Enhance AI Infrastructure And Collaboration
G42, OpenAI, Oracle, NVIDIA, SoftBank Group, and Cisco have joined forces to create Stargate UAE. This AI infrastructure cluster will be located at the new 5-gigawatt UAE–US AI Campus in Abu Dhabi. G42 will construct the 1-gigawatt compute cluster, while OpenAI and Oracle will manage its operations. Cisco and SoftBank Group are also involved, with NVIDIA providing its advanced Grace Blackwell GB300 systems.
The UAE–US AI Campus was recently announced in Abu Dhabi. It is part of a framework called the "US-UAE AI Acceleration Partnership." This initiative aims to enhance cooperation between the U.S. and UAE on AI and advanced technologies. The goal is to develop safe and responsible AI that benefits humanity in the long term.

Stargate UAE will offer top-tier infrastructure with nation-scale computing capabilities. It aims to meet the growing demands of an intelligent world by providing low latency inferencing. The first phase, a 200-megawatt AI cluster, is expected to be operational by 2026.
The full campus spans 10 square miles and is the largest deployment outside the US. It will provide 5 gigawatts of AI data centre capacity using nuclear, solar, and natural gas to reduce carbon emissions. A science park within the campus will foster innovation and talent development.
The collaboration includes Cisco's zero-trust security and AI-ready connectivity solutions. SoftBank Group supports this initiative alongside NVIDIA's cutting-edge technology contributions. These partnerships aim to create scalable and trusted AI infrastructure that accelerates scientific discovery.
Peng Xiao, CEO of G42, stated: "The launch of Stargate UAE is a significant step in the UAE–US AI partnership. As a founding partner, we’re proud to work alongside institutions that share our belief in responsible innovation and meaningful global progress."
Global Vision for AI
Sam Altman from OpenAI expressed enthusiasm about establishing Stargate outside the US for the first time: "By establishing the world’s first Stargate outside of the US in the UAE, we’re transforming a bold vision into reality." He highlighted its role in enabling breakthroughs like safer medicines and personalised learning.
Larry Ellison from Oracle emphasised how Stargate combines Oracle’s cloud with sovereign infrastructure: "This landmark deployment sets a new standard for digital sovereignty." He noted it enables UAE agencies to connect their data with advanced AI models.
Empowering Future Growth
NVIDIA’s Jensen Huang remarked on AI’s transformative power: "With Stargate UAE, we are building the AI infrastructure to power the country’s bold vision – to empower its people, grow its economy, and shape its future."
Masayoshi Son from SoftBank Group highlighted their support for this global vision: "SoftBank is proud to support the UAE’s leap forward. Bold investments can create a more connected world."
Cisco’s Chuck Robbins added: "Cisco is proud to join Stargate UAE to advance groundbreaking AI innovation...building smart networks that turn intelligence into impact at global scale."
This collaboration marks an important milestone for international cooperation in artificial intelligence development. By leveraging partnerships across industries like healthcare or finance through initiatives such as Stargate UAE at this new campus site - economic growth opportunities abound while ensuring sustainable practices remain central throughout all efforts undertaken here today!
