Global Rail Exhibition To Showcase Transport Innovations Under Sheikh Mansour's Patronage In October

The first Global Rail Transport Infrastructure Exhibition and Conference (Global Rail) will be held from 8th to 10th October at ADNEC, Abu Dhabi. Organised by Etihad Rail with the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and dmg events, it is under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This event will gather over 150 senior representatives from the global transport sector.

More than 10,000 attendees are expected at Global Rail, which will feature over 100 exhibitors worldwide. This platform aims to engage key players in transport and infrastructure sectors. Omar Alsebeyi, Executive Director of Commercial and Performance, and Salman Abou Hamzeh, Senior Vice President at dmg events, announced the speakers and themes for this landmark event during a press briefing.

Global Rail Exhibition Launches in Abu Dhabi

Global Rail will host both Strategic and Technical Conferences. These conferences will include high-level ministerial participation and global executives. The focus is on rail's potential as a sustainable transportation driver. Notable speakers include Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi, Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Óscar Puente, Lee Seong-hai, Hamad Issa Abdullah, Shadi Malak, and Abdul Muhsen Ibrahim Kalbat.

Industry leaders from companies such as Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane, RENFE-Operadora, Systra, Alstom, RITES Infrastructure, Arup, CAF, Iryo, Globalvia, Siemens Mobility, HyperloopTT, Ineco, Presight, and Progress Rail will also participate. These experts will provide insights into critical industry changes.

The three-day event includes panel discussions, fireside chats, case studies, and project updates. Topics cover legal matters in transport ecosystems like project finance and consulting. Other areas include rail operators' roles in infrastructure funding strategies and logistics innovations.

The Strategic Conference will explore cross-sector collaboration to enhance rail's value. Discussions aim to boost innovation through new policy frameworks that drive economic growth while supporting decarbonisation efforts. The Technical Conference focuses on cutting-edge R&D solutions for rail innovation.

Innovation Hub and Finance Pavilion

A Finance Pavilion will connect financiers with infrastructure developers to discuss funding opportunities. This space facilitates strategic partnerships among investors and stakeholders in the transport sector. The Innovation Hub complements this by showcasing disruptive technologies poised to transform mobility.

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) is the exclusive Finance Pavilion Headline Sponsor. Other sponsors include Abu Dhabi Airports and Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO). Gold sponsors are DP World; Silver sponsors include Alstom with Arup as Knowledge Partner.

UAE's Role in Global Transport

Sheikh Nasser Al Qasimi stated that hosting Global Rail highlights the UAE’s leadership in transport development. He noted that new technologies are reshaping goods movement globally: "The transport sector is at a critical juncture." The event serves as a platform for collaboration towards sustainability goals.

Omar Alsebeyi commented on bringing global leaders together: "Global Rail will bring together the world’s foremost leaders." He emphasised Etihad Rail's role in fostering industry collaborations under Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan's vision.

A Landmark Event for Transportation

Christopher Hudson remarked on Global Rail's significance: "The introduction of Global Rail in Abu Dhabi represents a landmark moment." He highlighted learning from countries with established networks to promote rail as a preferred mode regionally.

This event aims to set new benchmarks for industry practices while advancing sustainable transport visions worldwide through insightful discussions about future trends shaping rail transport sectors globally.
