Global Ministers And Energy Leaders To Convene At ADIPEC 2024 For Energy Transition Discussions
In Abu Dhabi, ADIPEC 2024 will gather over 40 ministers and more than 200 top executives and tech innovators from the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas. The event aims to promote collaboration and partnerships for accelerating the energy transition. Hosted by ADNOC from 4th to 7th November 2024, it will focus on "Connecting Minds. Transforming Energy" to explore AI's role in shaping the energy sector.
Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, COP28 President, and ADNOC Managing Director and Group CEO, will deliver a keynote speech at the Opening Ceremony. Following this, a ministerial panel titled "The new global leaders and the energy transition" will feature energy ministers from the UAE, India, and Egypt discussing how emerging economies are reshaping the global energy landscape.

Tayba Al Hashemi, Chair of ADIPEC 2024 and CEO of ADNOC Offshore, stated: "ADIPEC 2024 will unite global industry and technology leaders to unlock opportunities that can accelerate the energy transition." She anticipates welcoming industry leaders worldwide to this solutions-oriented event. Among those confirmed to speak are Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei from the UAE and Karim Badawi from Egypt.
The lead CEO panel on day one is titled "Meeting escalating global energy demand whilst transitioning to a low-carbon energy system." This discussion will include Murray Auchincloss of bp, Wael Sawan of Shell, Tengku Muhammad Taufik of PETRONAS, and Claudio Descalzi of Eni. They will address balancing growing energy needs with decarbonisation goals.
Prominent figures such as Joseph McMonigle from the International Energy Forum and Alfred Stern of OMV are set to speak at ADIPEC 2024. Other notable participants include Takayuki Ueda of INPEX, Russell Hardy of Vitol, Proscovia Nabbanja of Uganda National Oil Company, Lorenzo Simonelli of Baker Hughes, Alessandro Bernini of Maire, Musabbeh Al Kaabi from ADNOC's Low Carbon Solutions division, Arnaud Pieton of Technip Energies, Fred Krupp from the Environmental Defense Fund, Ivana Jemelkova from the Hydrogen Council, Sophie Hildebrand from ADNOC, and Mohammad Abdelqader El-Ramahi from Masdar.
The event will also feature leaders from technology giants like Microsoft and Siemens sharing insights on digital transformation. AI innovators such as Boomitra will highlight AI's potential in driving efficiency across the energy sector. Logistics firms like AD Ports Group will discuss sustainable supply chains.
