The Global Media Congress Organising Committee recently shared updates on the upcoming third edition of the event. Scheduled from 26th to 28th November, it will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The event will gather key decision-makers, media leaders, experts, and influencers globally.

Dr Jamal Al Kaabi, Acting Director-General of Emirates News Agency (WAM) and Chairman of the Organising Committee, along with Saeed Al Shamsi, Chief Human Capital Officer at ADNEC Group, led the briefing. They discussed preparations for the 2024 Congress themed "Shaping Future Media," aiming for an exceptional edition.

The briefing highlighted UAE media's strategic role in supporting national events and promoting the country's cultural and developmental messages worldwide. Leaders from media institutions and social media creators attended this session to understand these objectives better.

Dr Jamal Al Kaabi emphasised three focus areas for this year's Congress: The Business of Media, Content is King, and Digital Disruption. These themes aim to foster communication among leaders and innovators to advance the evolving media landscape.

Dr Al Kaabi noted that UAE leadership prioritises informed media to position the country as a global media hub. This vision motivates efforts to enhance national media's ability to reflect UAE’s achievements across various sectors.

The Congress aims to highlight global media transformations through thought leaders and opinion-makers. It seeks to foster impactful partnerships, drive innovation, and elevate media standards by offering insights into sustainable practices.

Technological Advancements in Media

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC Group, remarked on how the Congress strengthens national media frameworks. He emphasised new technologies like AI that significantly impact life areas, especially media.

Al Dhaheri added that the Congress provides a platform for international dialogue on collaboration in media. It discusses industry developments like digital communications and AI, offering professionals opportunities to explore challenges and trends.

Workshops and Training Sessions

The third edition will feature innovative media labs addressing pressing issues in global media for 2024 and beyond. These labs are expected to be highly attractive features this year.

A series of training workshops over three days will develop talent by teaching new skills and strengthening existing ones. Participants will learn about AI technologies through diverse programmes enhancing professional capacities.

Expanded Programme Highlights

This year's expanded programme includes discussions with key committee members about transforming the media industry. The Congress serves as a central platform for collaboration and innovation among leading professionals worldwide.

The event spans 37,000 square metres with a 15.5% size increase from previous editions. It will feature 180 exhibiting companies—a 31% rise—and aims to attract over 30,000 visitors globally through various sessions and networking spaces.
