Global Health Exhibition Continues In Riyadh After $33 Billion Investment Announcement

The Global Health Exhibition in Riyadh is making headlines with its ongoing activities. On its first day, it announced partnerships and investments surpassing $33 billion. This significant financial boost strengthens Saudi Arabia's role as a key player in the global healthcare sector. The event, supported by the Ministry of Health, aligns with Vision 2030 and the Health Sector Transformation Program, solidifying its status as a major platform for healthcare advancement.

Minister of Health Fahd AlJalajel inaugurated the exhibition. During his opening remarks, he emphasized Vision 2030's impact on transforming healthcare. "Vision 2030 has given us ample opportunity to reshape the healthcare landscape. We have shifted from treating illness after it occurs to preventing it before it happens, and from investing in pain to investing in hope," he stated.

The second day of the exhibition highlighted innovations and digital changes in healthcare. Sessions covered topics like smart hospitals, AI in obstetrics, and digital patient journey transformations. These discussions aim to explore how technology can enhance healthcare delivery and efficiency.

Saudi Ambassador to the United States Reema bint Bandar bin Abdulaziz delivered a virtual address during the opening ceremony. Her participation underscores international cooperation's importance in advancing Saudi Arabia's healthcare goals under Vision 2030.

The Kingdom has made notable strides in public health metrics as part of Vision 2030. Life expectancy is nearing 79.7 years, up from 74 years in 2016, thanks to quality healthcare interventions. Early screenings for nearly 3 million newborns and 6 million premarital screenings have contributed significantly to this progress.

Chronic disease-related deaths have decreased by 38%, while traffic fatalities have dropped by over 50%. Additionally, early detection of cancer cases now stands at 70%. "This is the essence of Vision 2030, this is our healthcare transformation, and this is the unified approach of the government," Al-Jalajel said.

The exhibition will continue until October 30, offering more opportunities for discussions on strategic investments and international collaborations. These efforts are crucial for maintaining Saudi Arabia's leadership in global health transformation through innovation and cooperation.
