Global Future Councils And Cybersecurity 2025 Conclude Activities With Global Expert Participation
The United Arab Emirates has cultivated an environment that unites innovators and experts globally to discuss future challenges, especially in the era of artificial intelligence. Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Co-Chair of the Global Future Councils, highlighted this at the conclusion of the Annual Meetings of the Global Future Councils and Cybersecurity 2025. He noted that these councils have become platforms for strategic partnerships and international cooperation aimed at fostering growth.
Al Gergawi emphasised the UAE's commitment to supporting international efforts that accelerate progress and enhance resilience. The Global Future Councils invite stakeholders worldwide to contribute to shaping the future. This extensive dialogue aims to align efforts in building a renewed global vision focused on human-centric development. The UAE's partnership with the World Economic Forum exemplifies a model for positive change through open dialogue.
The meetings gathered over 700 global leaders from 93 countries, including decision-makers, academics, entrepreneurs, and government officials. Discussions focused on anticipating developments in key areas such as AI, cybersecurity, food security, energy, health, and space. These sessions explored how to transform challenges into opportunities for sustainable development by building resilient systems across various sectors.
Sessions on technology addressed rapid advancements in AI and quantum computing. The session titled ‘AI’s Scaling Dilemma’ discussed balancing technical performance with sustainability. It aimed to create AI systems that inspire confidence while supporting human development. Another session explored neurotechnology's potential in enhancing cognitive abilities while considering ethical dimensions.
Cybersecurity sessions examined global trends in digital protection. The session ‘Inside the Cyber Criminal Mind’ delved into cybercrime patterns, stressing the need for understanding perpetrators' psychology. Another session highlighted increasing cyber risks faced by organisations and underscored international cooperation's role in developing new digital protection frameworks.
The economy-focused discussions analysed geopolitical shifts affecting global growth. The session ‘Economies Amid Geostrategic Shifts’ explored strategies for flexible economic policies amid volatility. It emphasised transitioning towards a green economy that promotes sustainable growth. Another session highlighted technology's role in driving economic recovery amid an anticipated slowdown.

The environmental discussions explored climate-related disasters' impact on supply chains and promising innovations like precision fermentation. The session ‘Liberating Food’ discussed reshaping food systems through innovation while overcoming political barriers. In energy, discussions warned against unequal adoption of technologies widening transition gaps, advocating for balanced strategies.
The health sector discussion highlighted underinvestment consequences on economies and societies. It stressed efficient financing policies for healthcare systems to confront future challenges like pandemics and pollution. In space exploration, discussions affirmed its role in addressing global issues like climate change through innovative technologies inspired by astronauts' experiences.

The closing session summarised insights from the meetings to shape innovative development models for smart economies and societies. The event reflects His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision since 2001 for leveraging knowledge to advance human development. Since 2008, these councils have transformed the UAE into a hub for future-oriented policymaking.
Continuing this approach, the councils integrate foresight into digital transformation efforts to build a resilient cybersecurity landscape while enhancing knowledge economy integration with environmental sustainability.
