Global Alliances Key To Humanitarian Efforts, Says Khalid Bin Zayed

H.H. Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO), emphasised the need to strengthen global alliances for humanitarian work due to current global challenges. "We have learned from our founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the true meaning of selfless humanitarian work, embodying the spirit of giving, compassion, and empathy for others," he said on World Humanitarian Day 2024.

He highlighted that under the vision and directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE is promoting humanitarian values and a culture of philanthropy among its citizens and residents. He reiterated that the challenges faced globally necessitate stronger alliances in humanitarian efforts. "We have learned from our founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the true meaning of selfless humanitarian work, embodying the spirit of giving, compassion, and empathy for others," he added.

The UAE's dedication to humanitarian work is deeply rooted in its identity and social culture. This commitment is built on the strong foundations laid by the late Sheikh Zayed since the Union's founding. Today, Sheikh Khalid reaffirmed that humanitarian work remains a fundamental pillar for building a better future for all humanity and sends a message of global solidarity.

Sheikh Khalid expressed pride in the UAE's leadership in global humanitarian efforts. The nation has made significant contributions in providing disaster relief, medical assistance, shelter, food, clean water, education, healthcare, and protection to vulnerable groups such as children, women, and the elderly. This dedication reflects the wise leadership’s vision of making humanitarianism and generosity core values in building a brighter future for everyone.

"In alignment with the vision and directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan," he continued, "the UAE is fostering humanitarian values and a culture of philanthropy among its citizens and residents." He stressed that these efforts are essential in addressing current global challenges through strengthened alliances.

Sheikh Khalid concluded by emphasising that humanitarian work has become an integral part of UAE’s identity. The nation's efforts are built on humanity's strong foundations laid by Sheikh Zayed since the Union's inception. He noted that this commitment sends a powerful message of global solidarity.
