Global AI Healthcare Academy In Abu Dhabi Trains Over 3,750 Healthcare Professionals In AI Skills

The Global Artificial Intelligence (AI) Healthcare Academy has successfully trained over 3,750 healthcare professionals in Abu Dhabi. This initiative, launched by the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) in partnership with the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), aims to enhance AI skills among healthcare workers. The collaboration began with a memorandum of understanding signed during Abu Dhabi Global Healthcare Week in May 2024.

Participants have engaged in various training programmes to improve their proficiency in AI technologies. These courses are designed to boost diagnostic and operational efficiency, ultimately benefiting community health and wellbeing. The Academy's goal is to position Abu Dhabi as a leader in technology-driven healthcare systems.

The Academy offers training sessions on crucial topics like AI applications in radiology and cardiology. It also covers advanced data analytics and prediction techniques. These educational courses cater to both senior executives and operational staff within the healthcare sector, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.

Dr. Rashed Alsuwaidi, Acting Director General of Healthcare Regulatory at DoH, expressed pride in the collaboration with MBZUAI. He stated, "Today, the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) proudly celebrates our successful collaboration with our esteemed partners at the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI). This initiative underscores the Department’s commitment to empowering and enabling healthcare cadres with the latest knowledge and tools required to enhance the quality and efficiency of healthcare services delivered within Abu Dhabi."

Sultan Al Hajji, Vice President of Public Affairs and Alumni Relations at MBZUAI, highlighted the importance of this partnership.
