Global Aerospace Summit To Enhance Sustainability And Foster Youth Engagement In Aviation Industry

The Global Aerospace Summit, held on 25th and 26th September at the St. Regis, Saadiyat Island Resort in Abu Dhabi, aims to enhance sustainability, engage youth, and foster innovation within the aerospace industry. This prestigious event, now in its seventh edition, has become a key platform for high-level discussions and strategic insights among global aerospace leaders.

Since its inception in 2012, the Summit has played a crucial role in establishing the UAE as a prominent hub for aerospace activities. The aviation sector is a significant contributor to economic growth. The space economy is projected to expand from $630 billion in 2023 to US$1.8 trillion by 2035, growing at an average annual rate of 9%, surpassing global GDP growth.

Aerospace Summit Promotes Sustainability and Innovation

Key topics at the Summit include advancements in aerospace technology, policy, and investment. Discussions will cover developments in aviation and space sectors. Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), electric propulsion, hydrogen-powered aircraft, and satellite broadband connectivity will be explored.

Panel sessions will address various trends like space communication, air travel demand, sustainability initiatives, air cargo logistics, and advanced aerial mobility solutions. High-profile speakers include Ricardo Conde from the Portuguese Space Agency and Dr. Mohamed Alahbabi from EDGE Group.

Waleid Al Mesmari of EDGE highlighted the importance of the Summit for connecting with key players in defence, space, and aviation sectors. VISTA showcases global start-ups aiming to disrupt the aerospace industry with innovations ranging from crypto solutions to eVTOLs. Participants can pitch their ideas live on the Innovation Hub stage before an esteemed panel of investors.

Sustainable Aviation Fuel Initiatives

Simon D’Oyly from Fly Victor expressed enthusiasm about sharing insights on their ‘Pay Here, Use There’ Sustainable Aviation Fuel solution at the Summit.
