GITEX Ai Serbia Set To Debut At Belgrade Fair In May 2027, Showcasing Digital Innovation

The Southeast European region is embracing digitalisation, driven by the potential of new technologies. This area, which connects Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, is on the brink of a significant transformation. On Monday, it was announced that GITEX, the largest global tech and AI event network, will expand into this region.

During GITEX GLOBAL 2025's opening day, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia revealed plans for GITEX Ai Serbia. This event will take place at Belgrade Fair from 26-27 May 2027. It aims to position Southeast Europe as a key hub where regional digital economies meet global innovation and investment opportunities.

Organised by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and KAOUN International, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, GITEX Ai SERBIA will be the official tech event for EXPO 2027 Belgrade. Marko Čadež, President of the Chamber, stated: "Staging GITEX Ai Serbia during EXPO 2027 marks an unprecedented opportunity to showcase our nation’s digital transformation journey on the world stage, uniting regional innovation with a global community of investors, partners, and visionaries."

Trixie LohMirmand from DWTC & KAOUN International highlighted that GITEX Ai Serbia embodies their vision to promote bold innovation globally. She said: "The strategic hosting of the inaugural GITEX during Serbia’s EXPO 2027 Belgrade is a genius manoeuvre to exert the soft power of AI and tech." This initiative aims to foster international cooperation and create new opportunities for investment and growth.

Southeast Europe is experiencing rapid digital transformation due to government reforms, increased ICT investments, and private sector innovations. The adoption of digital public services and fintech is growing swiftly. The regional data centre market is expected to expand by nearly 50% soon (JLL), highlighting its role as a crucial technology corridor linking Europe with Asia and the Middle East.

Aligning with EXPO 2027 Belgrade’s theme "Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All," Serbia’s innovation drive showcases creativity and unity. By integrating technological progress with cultural expression, Serbia exemplifies how innovation can harmonise with humanity – a vision that GITEX Ai Serbia aims to amplify.

GITEX has rapidly expanded its international presence over three years by organising events in 14 cities worldwide. It provides unmatched access to new markets, capital, talent, partnerships, and opportunities. Leveraging its extensive network of digital economy stakeholders globally, GITEX Ai Serbia will bring together tech enterprises, thought leaders, policymakers, SMEs, startups, and venture capitalists in Belgrade.
