GE Vernova Expands Operations With New Warehouse In Sharjah's SAIF Zone To Enhance Electric Power Services

GE Vernova, a global energy company, is expanding its operations in the Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone) by opening a 4,300-square-foot warehouse. This new facility aims to meet increasing demand and improve storage and operational capabilities as the company grows its activities in the region. The warehouse was inaugurated during a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of SAIF Zone, and Eric Chaussin, Vice President and CEO of GE Vernova’s Power Transmission.

The newly opened warehouse will play a crucial role in strengthening GE Vernova's supply chain. It will focus on distributing spare parts and handling repair and maintenance for equipment in the electric power sector, including wind turbines and solar and hydropower systems. This expansion is expected to help customers maintain operational continuity and achieve optimal efficiency across the UAE and the region.

GE Vernova Expands in Sharjah's SAIF Zone

Saud Salim Al Mazrouei highlighted that GE Vernova’s expansion within SAIF Zone reflects its effective strategies to deliver top-tier services to investors. He emphasised that the Free Zone's approach ensures a nurturing environment for businesses to grow, expand, and serve regional and international markets effectively. This aligns with Sharjah’s economic diversification strategy and the UAE’s transition toward a low-carbon green economy.

During the inauguration event, Al Mazrouei toured the facility alongside other officials from the free zone. They were briefed on its advanced storage systems designed to streamline operations. The facility also features cutting-edge equipment, including advanced gas turbine technologies pivotal to GE Vernova’s operations in the electric power sector.

Eric Chaussin stated that GE Vernova’s decision to expand operations in SAIF Zone was influenced by its strategic location and advanced infrastructure. These factors enable quick access to local and global markets, enhancing logistics operations and improving spare parts distribution for the electric power sector. The company has over 130 years of experience in energy supply with around 80,000 employees worldwide.

Al Mazrouei stressed that SAIF Zone will continue solidifying its position as a leading investment hub in key economic sectors like renewable energy and advanced industries. He noted that this success is driven by strategic location, cutting-edge infrastructure, and investor-focused services creating a dynamic environment for growth.

Enhancing Operational Efficiency

The new warehouse is designed to support GE Vernova’s logistics operations by reducing response times for spare parts needed for major projects across the UAE. This expansion showcases GE Vernova's commitment to supporting UAE’s energy production capabilities. The company has been present in the UAE for over 50 years with notable projects like Hamriyah Independent Power Plant in Sharjah.

Al Mazrouei reaffirmed that SAIF Zone remains committed to maintaining an investor-friendly approach by providing necessary resources ensuring business partners' success. He added that growing operations within SAIF Zone demonstrate its status as a strategic hub for businesses seeking access to global markets.

Eric Chaussin added that GE Vernova's expansion highlights their dedication to enhancing UAE's energy production capabilities.
