UAE's Aerospace And Defence Capabilities Strengthened By GAL And Thales Partnership
A strategic partnership has been established between Global Aerospace Logistics (GAL) and Thales Emarat Technologies (Thales) to enhance support for Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) within the UAE's defense forces.
This collaboration, spanning four years, aims to fortify the operational readiness of the MPA platform, ensuring the provision and deployment of necessary resources to boost its effectiveness. Additionally, the partnership will explore the potential for integrating new systems across both existing and prospective MPA platforms, marking a significant step forward in the advancement of the UAE's aerospace and defense capabilities.

The agreement underscores a mutual commitment to fostering the development of the UAE's defense and aerospace sector. This collaboration is set to explore advanced solutions for the digitalization of operations, focusing on mission systems, maintenance, and support for MPA platforms.
"Partnering with Thales allows us to combine our expertise and capabilities to further collaborate on the digitalization of operations related to mission systems and maintenance and support solutions for MPA platforms," stated Mahmood Alhay Alhameli, Chief Executive Officer at GAL.
Through GAL's "Next 50 Initiative," both entities are dedicated to the professional growth of aspiring aerospace experts in the UAE. This initiative offers specialized training programs covering aircraft engine maintenance, avionics, engineering principles, and operational protocols. Thales is set to contribute to this educational endeavour by providing extensive training and on-site learning experiences at its global facilities, thereby ensuring a well-rounded development program for the participants.
Abdelhafid Mordi, Chief Executive Officer of Thales Emarat Technologies and Thales in the UAE, expressed pride in the partnership, stating, "We're very proud to be partnering GAL. I am confident that we will not only improve response time and flexibility, but also readiness." He highlighted Thales' 50-year legacy in the UAE, emphasising the value of trust, innovation, high-tech manufacturing, and localized knowledge transfer in contributing to the nation's security goals.
This partnership not only aims to enhance the operational efficiency of the UAE's Maritime Patrol Aircraft but also signifies a broader commitment to the strategic development of the country’s defense and aerospace sector.
By combining GAL's in-depth understanding of aerospace logistics and Thales' expertise in high-tech solutions, this collaboration is poised to deliver significant advancements in military readiness and personnel training.
Furthermore, it underscores a shared vision for empowering Emirati talent, ensuring that the UAE continues to build a robust, skilled workforce capable of steering the nation towards its future defense and aerospace ambitions.
