G42 Expands Global Presence With G42 Europe & UK Subsidiary In London

In a significant move to expand its global footprint, the UAE's G42, specializing in artificial intelligence and advanced technologies, has introduced its new subsidiary, G42 Europe & UK. With its headquarters set in London, this subsidiary aims to cater to the specific AI needs of the private sector within the UK and Europe, while forming strategic partnerships with government bodies and industry leaders to enhance the region's AI infrastructure.

The leadership of G42 Europe & UK comprises two experienced technology figures. Omar Mir, an International Board Member at World Wide Technology, brings over two decades of expertise from across the globe, including the UK, Europe, the USA, and the Middle East. His work has significantly influenced the growth of 5G, edge computing, cloud services, and AI solutions. Meanwhile, Marty Edelman, serving as the Group General Counsel of G42, has played a critical role in shaping the legal and compliance framework of the company, facilitating its expansion into new markets.

Omar Mir stated, "I am honoured to co-chair G42 Europe & UK at this pivotal moment. Our goal is to harness G42's proven AI expertise and localise it for European and UK businesses — fuelling digital transformation, enhancing competitiveness, and building resilient, sovereign AI infrastructure in partnership with public and private stakeholders."

G42 Europe & UK's creation is a response to the increasing demand for AI solutions in Europe, as evidenced by G42's recent expansion efforts, including the establishment of data centres and compute clusters in France and Italy, alongside growing interest from several other European countries.

The subsidiary plans to utilise G42's extensive network of supercomputing nodes, data centres, and AI capabilities to offer a wide range of AI services. These services will span from strategic advisory and model development to infrastructure deployment and managed services, catering to various sectors such as finance, healthcare, manufacturing, and energy.

Additionally, G42 Europe & UK will work alongside national and regional bodies to support initiatives aimed at enhancing data sovereignty and facilitating the development of cutting-edge AI infrastructure.
