Fujairah To Host Mountain Shooting Championship With Over $350K Prizes In February 2025

Following the success of its first edition in 2023, Fujairah Shooting Club has announced the return of the Fujairah Mountain Shooting Championship (FMSC) and the launch of its official website for the second edition. The event, held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, will take place in February 2025.

The championship will run from 1st to 8th February 2025 in Dibba, Fujairah, UAE. It will feature challenging layouts, exciting side events, and an opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the emirate. The main championship is scheduled from 5th to 8th February and will showcase Super Sporting with 240 clays, offering a total prize of US$300,000 and an additional $50,000 for 100 flash clays.

Fujairah Shooting Event Returns in 2025

Preliminary competitions will be held from 1st to 4th February, featuring 50 clays of English Sporting with a prize pool of $40,000 across four categories. The opening ceremony is set for 4th February, while the awards ceremony will take place on 8th February 2025.

The main championship will consist of 24 stands, each equipped with six machines presenting ten targets including singles and doubles. Over four days, participants will face a total of 240 targets with 60 targets covered each day. Competitors will be organised into six-man squads.

One highlight includes side events such as Pool Shoots and English Sporting held from 1st to 7th February. The championship is supported by the National Sporting Clays Association and the Clay Pigeon Shooting Association.

Commenting on the event, Saif Al Zahmi, Director of FMSC said, "FMSC is inspired by the region’s rich hunting tradition and heritage. We are thrilled to announce the launch of the website, kicking off the highly anticipated return of the event in February 2025. This unique sporting event offers over AED1 million in prizes and an opportunity to experience the region’s vibrant culture. Alongside the competition, exciting side events will provide an exhilarating experience while respecting the environment through the use of 100 percent biodegradable wads and eco-friendly clay targets."

Prominent Ambassadors

The event features prominent ambassadors including George Digweed MBE, a renowned English sport shooter and multiple world and European clay-shooting champion; Phil Gray; and Saif Bin Futtais, an Emirati sport shooter and five-time Olympian.

The FMSC aims to blend competitive shooting with cultural experiences while promoting environmental sustainability through eco-friendly practices.
