Fujairah Equestrian Championships To Feature Over 600 Horses In December 2024

Under the auspices of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, the Fujairah Equestrian Championships are set to take place in December. This event will showcase over 600 horses. The championships aim to enhance equestrian activities in the Emirate and are organised by the Higher Committee of Fujairah Equestrian Championships.

The 2024 edition will include several key events. From 19th to 21st December, the 9th Fujairah International Arabian Horse Championship will occur. Following this, on 22nd December, the second Fujairah Dressage Championship will be held. Lastly, from 27th to 29th December, the second Fujairah Jumping Championship, a "CSI3" competition, will take place.

The Emirates Horse Society (EHS) will oversee the Arabian Horse Championship. Meanwhile, the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation (UAEERF) and the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI) will supervise the Dressage and Jumping Championships respectively. These events will be hosted at the Fujairah Fort Arena.

Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Chairman of the Higher Committee of Fujairah Equestrian Championships, stated that these events aim to elevate equestrian activities while celebrating cultural heritage. He said, "The Fujairah Equestrian Championships, held under the esteemed patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, aim to elevate equestrian activities in the Emirate while celebrating and preserving the rich cultural legacy of equestrianism."

Dr. Al Zeyoudi further explained that these championships inspire future generations to appreciate this heritage deeply. He added that various equestrian events promote fairness and safety while enhancing Fujairah's international status in equestrian sports.

Event Details and Participation

The International Arabian Horse Championship will feature 300 horses competing in 18 rounds across six categories. The show jumping event includes nine classes over three days, culminating with a Grand Prix on the final day.

Dr. Al Zeyoudi also highlighted their goal for the dressage championship: "Our goal in organising the dressage championship is to establish a platform in Fujairah where riders from across the country can demonstrate their mastery of equestrian techniques, competing to showcase their exceptional skills and abilities in horse training."

Participants for these events must register through official channels. Entries for the Dressage Championship are via UAEERF's portal (https://portal.uaeerf.ae/). For those entering the Jumping Championship, registration is through FEI (entry.fei.org) or national federations until 19th December.

The public can enjoy free entry to watch these championships from designated grandstands. This initiative aims to engage equestrian enthusiasts and promote wider interest in these prestigious events.
