Fujairah Crown Prince Welcomes World Taekwondo Federation President During Championships Opening
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, recently welcomed Dr. Choue Chung-won, President of the World Taekwondo Federation, along with the Federation’s Executive Board members at Al Rumaila Palace. This meeting coincided with the start of the World Taekwondo Cadet Championships – Fujairah 2025, featuring over 800 athletes globally. The event will run until 14th May.
H.H. highlighted that hosting international sports events like taekwondo championships aligns with Fujairah's strategic goal to become a global sports hub. This vision aims to nurture both local and international young athletic talent by providing an inspiring environment for their development.
The Crown Prince acknowledged that these accomplishments are due to the guidance and support of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah. His dedication has ensured that sports events in the emirate meet top international standards, enhancing Fujairah's reputation in the sports world.
He also lauded the World Taekwondo Federation for its significant role in promoting taekwondo and organising major global championships. The consistent success of Fujairah in hosting such events underscores its commitment to fostering a thriving sports movement and creating an ideal setting for international competitions.
