Fujairah Children's Book Fair Opens With Emphasis On Literature And Creativity For Young Minds
The Fujairah Children's Book Fair commenced under the auspices of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah. The event was inaugurated by H.H. Sheikh Dr. Rashid bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority. Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the UAE Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, also graced the opening at Al Bayt Mitwahid Hall in Fujairah.
H.H. Sheikh Dr. Rashid highlighted the significance of children's literature in society during the ceremony. He stressed the importance of nurturing this genre to enhance children's awareness and imagination through book fairs and cultural initiatives. The Fujairah government is committed to cultural development, aligning with H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi's vision to promote knowledge and reading culture through sustainable projects.
The fair offers a variety of interactive workshops in both Arabic and English, designed to boost children's creativity and language skills. Storytelling sessions and discussions with renowned children's authors are also part of the event's offerings. These activities aim to inspire young minds and foster a love for reading among children.
H.H. Sheikh Dr. Rashid toured the exhibition, visiting booths of various publishing houses and engaging with cultural institutions participating in the fair's activities. This engagement underscores the fair's role in promoting cultural exchange and collaboration among different stakeholders in children's literature.
Nasser Al Yamahi, Executive Director of the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority, announced an Upcoming Author competition during the opening ceremony. This initiative aims to encourage young writers to showcase their talents and contribute to children's literature. It reflects a broader effort to support emerging voices in writing.
The fair will continue until 19th October at Al Bayt Mitwahid Hall in Fujairah, featuring numerous activities designed to educate and entertain young audiences. These events are crafted to provide an enriching experience for children, fostering a lifelong interest in reading and learning.
