FTA Partners with 01GOV to Expand Tax 10 Platform Use for Innovation

In a significant move to foster innovation within the public sector, the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) of the United Arab Emirates has announced a strategic partnership with the 01GOV Platform. This collaboration is set to enhance the capabilities of the FTA's Tax 10 platform, which was initially launched last year as part of the authority's commitment to promoting excellence and creativity among its workforce. The partnership was unveiled as a key component of the 'UAE Innovates 2024' initiative, which runs throughout February.

The Tax 10 platform is designed to serve as a catalyst for innovation, aiming to improve service quality, drive sustainable development in performance, and foster a culture of innovation within the FTA. By collaborating with the 01GOV Platform, the FTA seeks to extend the reach of Tax 10, enabling it to play a pivotal role in enhancing innovation across various government entities, local academic institutions, and tax authorities throughout the region.

Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Director-General of the FTA, emphasized the importance of strategic collaborations in promoting a culture of innovation and empowering community members. "The Federal Tax Authority is dedicated to strengthening strategic collaboration frameworks with various entities to promote a culture of innovation and empower individuals in the community," Al Bustani stated. He further highlighted that partnering with the 01GOV Platform would pave the way for innovative projects that anticipate future trends and align with the UAE's national agenda.

Jassim Al-Haddad, Head of the FTA’s InnoVATion Team, shed light on how expanding access to the Tax 10 platform would facilitate regional cooperation. The initiative will grant licences to representatives from tax authorities across the GCC countries and provide access to UAE universities, government entities, and community members. A total of 100 licences will be offered for community use over a six-month period.

The Tax 10 platform stands out as a pioneering initiative in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. It offers an extensive digital observatory with over 3,000 documented global government innovation practices across 15 fields, including taxes, financial innovations, government services, and future skills. This platform is built on advanced technologies and smart programmes, encouraging active participation from all FTA employees in designing future tax-related experiences and initiatives.

By documenting success stories and providing specialized digital content and tools, the Tax 10 platform aims to enhance the efforts of innovation leaders and teams within the FTA. This initiative not only showcases international best practices in the tax sector but also advances all aspects of the Authority’s operational and service systems.

The partnership between the Federal Tax Authority and the 01GOV Platform marks a significant step towards leveraging advanced technology to upgrade government services. Through this collaboration, both entities aim to drive comprehensive digital transformation campaigns that respond swiftly to global developments in government innovation.
