UAE Startup Ourwatr Launches Free Mineral Water Initiative For Enhanced Public Hydration

In a pioneering move, a UAE-based startup, Ourwatr, is set to revolutionize access to drinking water across the nation from June 2025 with an innovative free mineral water program.

This initiative, the first of its kind in the region, aims to provide clean and refreshing mineral water to the public at no cost, marrying the concepts of sustainability, community welfare, and positive social impact.

The initiative will ensure that locally sourced mineral water from Dibba, Fujairah, is easily accessible to the populace.

The distribution points will be widespread, encompassing metro stations, shopping centers, parks, and government buildings, ensuring that chilled, quality water is available to everyone, underscoring the belief that staying hydrated is a fundamental right.

"At Ourwatr, we believe that drinking water should be accessible to all," states Abhinav Murali, a Co-founder of the venture. "That's why we're giving away premium mineral water for free, and every bottle supports communities in need. It's hydration with heart, proudly made right here in the UAE."

This initiative is not just about quenching thirst; it's a testament to the UAE's commitment to health, sustainability, and improving the quality of life, aligning with the nation's Vision 2030 objectives.

By ensuring access to clean drinking water, especially critical in the UAE's desert climate, Ourwatr is taking a significant step towards safeguarding the health and wellbeing of workers, families, children, and the elderly.

"In our desert climate, hydration isn't just healthy; it's life-saving," Bharath Mohan, another co-founder, emphasizes. "Each bottle we provide is a small act of kindness toward our community."

Ourwatr embodies a mission driven by compassion and a desire to make a tangible difference in people's lives. Initiated by three young entrepreneurs based in the UAE, the project was inspired by the realization that free and convenient access to hydration is not always available.

By forming partnerships with charitable organizations and government bodies, Ourwatr aims to extend its reach, turning the simple act of distributing water bottles into an opportunity for broader community support.

"Sustainability isn't just about less waste, it's about creating lasting, meaningful change," Sharat Nair, Co-founder, explains. The startup's approach extends beyond providing water; it involves a business model where sponsors cover production and distribution costs. This model allows brands to co-brand the bottles, spreading positive messages and values, thus achieving a broader impact.

Every bottle distributed by Ourwatr carries the prestigious Emirates Quality Mark (EQM) certification, assuring consumers of the water's quality. This mark of excellence ensures that the water meets both national and international standards, offering peace of mind to those who drink it.

Furthermore, the bottles are made from recyclable materials, contributing to the UAE's environmental goals and supporting a sustainable future.

Through its innovative model, Ourwatr not only provides essential hydration but also fosters a sense of community and shared responsibility.

By converting everyday actions into acts of kindness and support, the startup is setting a precedent for how businesses can contribute to societal well-being and environmental sustainability.

In delivering hope, care, and equality, one bottle at a time, Ourwatr is demonstrating that business ventures can have a profound impact on society, going beyond mere profit to address crucial human needs and environmental concerns.
