Founder’s Office Partners With National Library To Preserve UAE Founding Father’s Legacy

Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Chairman of The Founder’s Office (TFO), and Hamad bin Abdulrahman Al Midfa, Board Chairman of the National Library and Archives (NLA), have formalised a collaboration agreement between TFO and the NLA. The signing took place at TFO’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

This agreement enables TFO to utilise a central digital platform, serving as a reliable historical reference and archive for images, texts, audio, and video content related to the UAE Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The platform will provide TFO with access to extensive material that highlights Sheikh Zayed's legacy.

He further added, "This agreement embodies the strong commitment shown by TFO and the NLA to invest all their resources and capabilities to support national and joint efforts and initiatives."

Hamad bin Abdulrahman Al Midfa highlighted the significance of this cooperation between government entities. He noted that it contributes to preserving Sheikh Zayed's legacy across various materials, providing TFO with opportunities to use this material in its projects.

Future Vision

Al Midfa stated, "This agreement embodies a clear vision for the future, recognising the important role of both TFO and the NLA. Both entities are committed to preserving the legacy of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan."

He emphasised that this collaboration would enhance efforts to preserve Sheikh Zayed's story and share it with new generations, guiding them towards a future where the UAE plays a leading role.

Aligned Objectives

Abdulla Majed Al Ali, Director General of the NLA, remarked, "The objectives of the NLA align with those of TFO in this agreement. While TFO dedicates its efforts to perpetuating Sheikh Zayed's legacy, the NLA works on preserving his historical documents and publications narrating his story."

TFO aims to promote collective responsibility with government and private entities in line with its strategy. This includes intensifying efforts to implement initiatives that immortalise Sheikh Zayed's legacy while spreading awareness about his life, humanitarian work, and achievements.
