Foreseeing Government Audit Future Conference 2024 To Address Innovations In Auditing And Governance

The Financial Audit Authority (FAA) has announced that the Foreseeing Government Audit Future Conference 2024 will take place on 24th October at Madinat Jumeirah. The event is under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, and Chairman of the FAA.

This year's theme, "Tomorrow’s Auditor", underscores Dubai’s leadership in government auditing. It will gather key figures, senior officials, and experts in auditing, finance, and economics to discuss the future of government auditing and financial oversight while offering innovative insights.

The conference will feature panel discussions and workshops focusing on best practices and forward-thinking solutions crucial for advancing government auditing processes. These sessions aim to support Dubai’s economic landscape and align with its development goals.

Local and international speakers, including senior officials from Dubai’s government and federal entities, will share their expertise on global auditing standards. This exchange will promote knowledge transfer and enhance government auditors’ performance in preparing for future challenges.

The FAA is committed to enhancing accountability, transparency, and integrity in using public resources in Dubai. Multiple panel discussions will highlight key practices in government auditing and showcase leading solutions to boost this vital sector's contribution to the emirate's comprehensive development.

Abdulrahman Al Hareb, Director-General of the FAA, emphasised the importance of raising awareness about auditing within public institutions. He stated these are essential pillars for ensuring sound financial practices that bolster the emirate’s growth.

Conference Objectives

Addressing the conference's objectives, Al Hareb stated: "This aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum... By bolstering our auditing capabilities, we ensure public funds are safeguarded." The conference aims to drive growth through best practices in government auditing.

The event will open with a keynote session titled Governance of Artificial Intelligence and the Digital Economy by Omar bin Sultan Al Olama. This session will explore governance's role in AI and digital economy sectors, reflecting Dubai’s innovative vision.

Sessions Highlighting Governance

This year's agenda includes a session titled The Role of Effective Governance and Oversight in Achieving the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. Led by Directors-General like Malek Al Malek from the Dubai Development Authority, it focuses on effective governance's role in implementing D33.

The conference also highlights Inspiring Women: Success Stories from the UAE with speakers such as Hala Badri from Dubai Culture and Arts Authority. This session celebrates Emirati women’s achievements while offering inspiration and insights into their success stories.

Additional Sessions

Side sessions will cover topics like fraud risk assessment and performance monitoring best practices for internal auditing. Other discussions include governance's role in tax compliance enhancement. Notable sessions include Governance for Sustainable Growth and AI in Internal Auditing.
