Peru's Foreign Minister Elmer Schialer Salcedo Explores Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque In Abu Dhabi
Elmer Schialer Salcedo, the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Peru, recently toured the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. He was joined by Alberto Alejandro Farje Orna, Peru's Ambassador to the UAE. Dr. Yousef Al-Obaidli, Director-General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, guided them through the mosque’s halls and corridors.
The delegation learned about the mosque's cultural message that promotes coexistence, tolerance, and openness. This message is inspired by the values of the UAE's founding father. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre plays a crucial role in promoting Islamic culture and fostering cross-cultural communication globally.

The visitors were informed about the mosque’s history and its stunning architectural features. They explored its unique collections and admired the intricate Islamic art that decorates every corner. The mosque is a harmonious blend of diverse artistic and architectural styles, showcasing cultural unity.
During their visit, they also discovered how various artistic designs have come together to create a masterpiece that reflects cultural harmony. The mosque stands as a testament to Islamic civilization's beauty and diversity.
On the sidelines of his visit, Minister Salcedo expressed his gratitude for experiencing such an impressive landmark. He stated: "I feel grateful to be in this magnificent mosque. It is a place of worship and a space for tolerance, where people from all over the world gather under its roof. I believe that if our world had more landmarks like this mosque, and if the same efforts were made by men and women to build, organise, manage, and lead them, peace would prevail across the globe."
At the conclusion of their visit, a special gift was presented to Minister Salcedo. This included a compass inspired by the mosque’s chandeliers and a copy of "Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque: Lights of Peace." This book highlights the mosque’s architectural style with award-winning images from the "Spaces of Light" Award.
