Federal Tax Authority Highlights Digital Transformation Initiatives At GITEX Global 2024 Event

The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) will participate in the 44th GITEX Global 2024, starting on Monday, 14th October. This event at the Dubai World Trade Centre will host over 6,500 exhibitors and 1,800 speakers from 180 countries. The FTA aims to showcase its latest digital transformation initiatives that align with the UAE's strategy for smart systems and efficient digital services.

Through its participation, the FTA intends to highlight its ongoing efforts to modernise tax services. Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Director-General of FTA, stated, "By taking part in GITEX Global 2024, the world’s largest technology event, we aim to explore the latest programmes and smart digital systems in the field of taxation, which we could leverage in our efforts to continuously develop and modernise the Federal Tax Authority’s services."

FTA Showcases Digital Initiatives at GITEX 2024

The FTA plans to introduce several new initiatives aimed at enhancing its digital infrastructure during GITEX Global 2024. Among these is the Maskan smart application, which was officially launched this year following a trial at GITEX Global 2023. This app offers fully digital processes for citizens to reclaim VAT paid on constructing new homes.

Additionally, presentations will cover service improvement projects and the zero-bureaucracy initiative. Updates to the "EmaraTax" app for smart tax services will also be showcased. The FTA emphasises that these innovations are designed to streamline processes and improve user experience.

The FTA will conduct workshops and presentations during the event. These sessions aim to introduce participants and visitors to its latest digital initiatives and systems. Al Bustani explained that these efforts are crucial for delivering services that meet client expectations efficiently.

Moreover, visitor feedback on FTA services will be gathered during GITEX Global 2024. This input will be considered in future service updates as part of the Authority's commitment to enhancing customer satisfaction.

Strategic Partnerships

Al Bustani highlighted that participating in significant events like GITEX is part of the FTA's strategy to coordinate with strategic partners. It also fosters communication with government and private sector entities to support service upgrades.

The FTA is committed to contributing to the UAE’s Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme by reducing service delivery times by half. These initiatives align with directives from leadership aiming to position the UAE among top global competitors.

Innovative Systems

The Authority will also feature its "My procedures" Nintex system at GITEX Global 2024. This system uses artificial intelligence for efficient management and planning within the organisation. Additionally, electronic invoicing projects and mechanisms for corporate tax registration will be presented.

The FTA continues its focus on seamless digital solutions that enhance operational efficiency while meeting diverse client needs effectively.
