Federal Public Prosecution Launches Innovative AI-Supported Work System To Enhance Criminal Justice Efficiency

The Federal Public Prosecution has introduced a pioneering digital system powered by artificial intelligence to streamline its processes. This initiative aligns with the UAE's strategic focus on digital transformation and innovation in criminal justice. The system, the first of its kind in the UAE, aims to enhance procedural efficiency and support future foresight.

Faisal Abdulaziz Al Bannai highlighted that the UAE has established itself as a global leader in AI and technology. He noted that this collaboration would create a new vision for legal innovation, enhancing judicial efficiency. Al Bannai expressed his satisfaction with partnering with the Federal Public Prosecution on this project.

The digital system leverages AI to improve investigation procedures and ensure accurate judicial decisions. It supports work mechanisms within the criminal justice framework, aiming for swift and effective outcomes. This development is part of a broader strategy to integrate advanced technologies into legal processes.

Counsellor Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, UAE Attorney General, stated that this project marks a strategic move towards using AI to boost transparency and efficiency in criminal justice. "It reflects the Public Prosecution's commitment to developing innovative solutions that support efforts to improve the efficiency of the criminal justice system," he said.

This announcement follows an agreement between the Federal Public Prosecution and AI71, a company specialising in AI solutions for government and private sectors. The agreement was signed at the Office of the Attorney General in Abu Dhabi by key officials, including Faisal Abdulaziz Al Bannai and Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi.

The new system is designed to adapt globally across various legal frameworks. It can conduct precise legal research, analyse case facts, annotate multimedia content, transcribe information, retrieve legal principles, and link them instantly to case details. This comprehensive approach simplifies legal processes significantly.

Future Vision for Legal Systems

This project is part of a strategic plan by the Federal Public Prosecution to adopt advanced technologies and AI. It sets a new benchmark for using AI in supporting criminal legal systems regionally, reinforcing the UAE's leadership in legal and technological innovation.
