FANR Launches Nuclear And Radiation Excellence Award To Recognise Outstanding Contributions

The Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) has introduced the Nuclear and Radiation Excellence Award. This initiative aims to acknowledge individuals and organisations making significant strides in nuclear and radiation fields within the UAE. The award aligns with FANR’s mission to safeguard public health and the environment, recognising achievements in safety, innovation, leadership, and impactful contributions.

The award supports the "We the UAE 2031" vision, which focuses on national pride, an innovation-led economy, human capital development in key sectors, and environmental sustainability. It is open to participants from various sectors including nuclear, medical, industrial, and academic fields. Five categories are available: Best Research, Outstanding Professional, Future Leader, Best Innovation, and Outstanding Project or Initiative.

These categories encompass a wide range of contributions by professionals and institutions dedicated to ensuring safety, progress, and sustainability in this crucial sector. FANR’s Director-General Christer Viktorsson stated: "The Nuclear and Radiation Excellence Award reflects our commitment to safety, innovation, and leadership. It honours the more than 20,000 professionals driving this vital sector and inspires the next generation to uphold the highest standards in protecting people and the environment."

FANR encourages eligible stakeholders within the UAE’s nuclear and radiation ecosystem to submit nominations for this significant initiative. By acknowledging outstanding achievements, the award helps elevate sector standards while reinforcing the UAE’s global leadership in peaceful nuclear development.

Nominations are open until 29 November 2025 through the official award portal. This opportunity invites individuals and organisations to showcase their contributions towards advancing safety and innovation in nuclear technology.
