Brad Pitt's F1 Trailer Out With Abu Dhabi's Iconic Locations Ahead Of Release

A new cinematic trailer for the film F1, featuring Brad Pitt, was unveiled last night. Directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Films, the movie is set to be released globally in theatres and IMAX on June 27, 2025. Warner Bros. Pictures will handle distribution in North America, while international releases will begin on 25th June 2025.

The film's production took place over 29 days in Abu Dhabi at iconic locations like Yas Marina Circuit and Zayed International Airport. The cast includes Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, and Javier Bardem. They were supported by a local crew of 284 people, along with Epic Films and 15 young interns from Abu Dhabi Film Commission under its rebate scheme.

F1 Trailer Showcases Abu Dhabi Locations

F1 is among the 170 major productions backed by the Abu Dhabi Film Commission since its rebate programme started in 2013. Mohamed Dobay, Acting Director-General of Creative Media Authority, remarked on the trailer: "This trailer is a glimpse into our first partnership with Apple Original Films’ F1, which is one of the most hotly anticipated releases of 2025."

Sameer Al Jaberi, Head of Abu Dhabi Film Commission, expressed excitement about seeing the collaborative efforts come to life: "It is always a moment of anticipatory emotion to see the cumulative efforts of so much of Abu Dhabi’s talented film and production industry come to life in a trailer."

The story follows Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), once a promising FORMULA 1 driver whose career was nearly ended by an accident. Thirty years later, he returns to racing when his former teammate Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem) asks him to save his struggling team. Sonny races alongside rookie Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), but finds that redemption isn't easy.

The film features an ensemble cast including Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, and Samson Kayo. Ehren Kruger wrote the screenplay for this collaboration with FORMULA 1. The movie captures the thrilling world of motorsport during actual Grand Prix weekends worldwide.

The trailer showcases scenes from the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and highlights iconic locations like W Abu Dhabi on Yas Island. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for Abu Dhabi's film industry as it continues to attract international productions.
