Expo City Dubai Represents UAE’s Vision For Sustainable Future, Says Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, recently visited Expo City Dubai. During his visit, he learned about ongoing development projects aimed at establishing the city as a global hub and a model for smart, sustainable urban living. Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation and CEO of Expo City Dubai Authority, welcomed him alongside senior leadership members.
Sheikh Nahyan expressed admiration for the transformation of the former Expo 2020 site. He stated, "The site of the 2020 World Expo has become a living embodiment of the UAE’s vision to carry forward the legacy of Expo 2020 and shows how our nation’s achievements drive our ambitions for the future." He praised the city's dedication to sustainability, innovation, and collaboration, aligning with UAE values.
Reem Al Hashimy highlighted Sheikh Nahyan's visit as a testament to his unwavering support for Expo City Dubai. She remarked on his consistent backing of initiatives that reflect the UAE's commitment to tolerance, human development, and cultural understanding. Al Hashimy emphasised that Expo City's legacy extends beyond its physical infrastructure to its cultural and social impact.
During his tour, Sheikh Nahyan received a copy of "Witness: How a nation creates its own future." He described it as an inspiring account of the UAE’s journey and its historic World Expo hosting. The book celebrates Sheikh Zayed's visionary leadership in setting the UAE on its path to becoming a leading global nation.
Sheikh Nahyan acknowledged President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's role in guiding the nation's progress with wisdom and courage. He also praised His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for laying the foundations for Expo 2020's success and Expo City's evolution. These leaders have helped position the UAE as a model balancing economic growth with human development.
Al Hashimy reiterated that "Witness" serves as an extension of this message by documenting how the UAE builds bridges of hope globally. She affirmed their ambition for Expo City Dubai to symbolise national values and international cooperation. The city aims to be a hub where ideas become reality and tolerance is universal.
