Expo City Dubai And Dubai Culture Celebrate Emirati Artists At Dhai Dubai Light Art Exhibition
Expo City Dubai, in collaboration with the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, is set to host the Dhai Dubai exhibition from 12th to 18th November at Al Wasl Plaza. This event, led by Emirati artists, celebrates light art and aims to redefine traditional exhibitions as cultural movements. The initiative provides a platform for Emirati artists to express their heritage through modern art forms.
The partnership between Expo City Dubai and Dubai Culture showcases their mutual dedication to honouring traditions while shaping the future. This collaboration aims to empower artists and nurture the creative economy, positioning Dubai as a global hub for culture and arts. The event highlights how Emirati traditions continue to inspire contemporary art in the region.

This year's Dhai Dubai will feature seven new works by prominent Emirati artists from three generations: Fatma Lootah, Mohammed Kazem, Khalid AlBanna, Alia Bin Omair, AlZaina Lootah, Ahmed Al Areef Al Dhaheri, and Hessa Alghandi. Each installation delves into the emotional and cultural aspects of light within Emirati identity.
In addition to the light installations, the exhibition will introduce artist talks and public dialogues at the newly established House of Arts in Expo City Dubai. This venue is dedicated to fostering regional creativity and expression by connecting artists and audiences across the Arabian Gulf.
The House of Arts will serve as a hub for cultural exchange and collaboration, furthering connections among artists in the region. It aims to enhance dialogue and understanding through various events that bring together diverse artistic communities.
Shaima Rashed Al Suwaidi, CEO of the Arts, Design and Literature Sector at Dubai Culture, emphasised that Dhai Dubai underscores their mission to enrich Dubai's creative ecosystem. She stated that it supports the Public Art Strategy by encouraging artists to create works embodying the emirate's values.
Shared Vision for Cultural Growth
Amna Abulhoul, Co-Curator of Dhai Dubai and Executive Creative Director of Entertainment and Experiences at Expo City Dubai, described this collaboration as a celebration of shared purpose. "Dhai Dubai is the spirit of Dubai made visible — where past and future intertwine in brilliance," she said.
The second edition of Dhai Dubai is co-curated with Anthony Bastic, CEO and Creative Director of AGB Creative. It promises an engaging experience where art serves as a bridge between past traditions and future innovations.
This exhibition not only offers visitors a chance to experience diverse artistic expressions but also highlights art's role in fostering connection and dialogue within communities. Through this initiative, both institutions reaffirm their commitment to empowering artists while preserving cultural narratives for global audiences.
